Year R Parent Workshop

Year R parents and children at Our Lady, Lymington enjoyed a Pip and Pap Phonics "Pink Phase" workshop together, reading the story "The Red Van!"

This book focused on the sounds /j/ /v/ /w/ and /x/, which they had previously met, but children worked hard to blend words containing these grapheme-phoneme correspondences to read two sentences on a page, such as "The Boss sets Vem a job. She must lift a big box into the red van."

They did a superb job! Pupils and parents then worked together to design their own colourful vans - aren't they fantastic?
